The Siemens SOMATOM Sensation CT Scanner is widely recognized as a benchmark platform in high-speed, multi-detector CT imaging. Engineered to handle high patient volumes effortlessly, the Sensation series combines Siemens’ Ultra Fast Ceramic (UFC™) detectors with the groundbreaking STRATON™ X-ray tube to achieve sub-millimeter coverage and high temporal resolution.

With its ability to acquire isotropic voxels across all scan speeds, the SOMATOM Sensation eliminates spiral artifacts and delivers high-contrast detail in soft tissues, tiny vessel structures, and delicate bony anatomy. Supported by the syngo® multi-modality user interface, the system provides rapid workflow execution from patient registration to advanced 3D post-processing.

Key Features & Advanced Technologies

• STRATON™ X-Ray Tube Technology: Utilizes direct oil cooling on the rotating anode. By eliminating heat storage bottlenecks, the tube delivers rapid heat dissipation (up to 5.0 MHU/min) for continuous, high-mA scanning.

• z-Sharp™ Double Z-Sampling Technology: Employs a flying focal spot that alternates positions thousands of times per second, effectively doubling the scan data collected per rotation to yield an isotropic spatial resolution of up to 0.24 mm.

• UFC™ (Ultra Fast Ceramic) Detector Array: Delivers ultra-short afterglow and high quantum efficiency, ensuring exceptional low-contrast resolution with reduced radiation dose requirements.

• CARE Dose4D™ Dose Reduction: Automatically adjusts tube current in real time according to the anatomical cross-section of the patient, reducing radiation exposure by up to 70% without sacrificing image quality.

• Cardiac & Vascular Imaging Engines: Supports sub-second rotation speeds (down to 0.33 seconds) and temporal resolution down to 83 ms with HeartView CT for coronary plaque identification and calcium scoring.
