Description
Overview
The Philips Brilliance CT Scanner series is designed to deliver reliable performance, low total cost of ownership, and high clinical accuracy. Engineered for community hospitals, outpatient diagnostic centers, and busy trauma facilities, the Brilliance platform provides sharp sub-millimeter isotropic resolution across all body regions.
At the core of the system is the MRC X-ray tube, which replaces conventional mechanical ball bearings with liquid metal lubricated bearings. This design minimizes mechanical wear, dramatically extends tube lifespan, and allows continuous scanning without intermediate cooling delays. Coupled with the iDoseā“ reconstruction engine, the Philips Brilliance balances low-dose patient safety with sharp low-contrast visibility.
Key Features & Advanced Technologies
-
MRC (Maximum Rate Capacity) Tube Architecture: Utilizes direct oil/liquid cooling and liquid-metal bearings to withstand continuous high-mA scans, eliminating tube heat storage bottlenecks during high-volume clinical shifts.
-
iDoseā“ Iterative Reconstruction: Dual-space iterative noise-reduction technique that operates in both raw data and image domains. It improves spatial resolution and structural detail while reducing radiation dose by up to 57%ā80%.
-
NanoPanel Tile Detectors: Low-noise, highly integrated detector array designed to capture fine anatomical structures with low electronic noise, enhancing low-contrast detectability in soft tissue examinations.
-
DoseRight Suite:
-
DoseRight ACS (Automatic Current Selection): Modulates tube current based on patient girth and target image quality.
-
3D DOM (Dose Modulation): Dynamically adjusts dose along the X, Y, and Z axes in real time.
-
Dedicated Pediatric Protocols: Age and weight-adjusted scan settings to keep pediatric radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
-
-
Step & Shoot Cardiac / Prospective Gating: Acquires high-resolution coronary CTA datasets timed to specific phases of the cardiac cycle, lowering cardiac dose exposure compared to standard retrospective gating.
-
Brilliance Workspace: Streamlined intuitive user interface that automates multi-planar reformations (MPR), maximum intensity projections (MIP), and vessel tracking.
