Description
Overview
The GE SIGNA Premier 3.0T was developed in collaboration with research facilities and clinical providers to remove performance compromises from wide-bore 3.0-Tesla imaging. Designed to handle the demanding requirements of neuro-research—such as multi-shell Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and high-resolution functional MRI (fMRI)—the SIGNA Premier delivers research-grade power ($80\text{ mT/m}$ gradients) within a patient-friendly $70\text{ cm}$ flared bore.
At its core is the SuperG gradient coil, featuring an all-hollow conductor design with direct axial water cooling to ensure thermal stability during long, high-duty-cycle acquisitions. Combined with a 146-channel TDI Direct Digital RF chain, the system acquires high-channel-density signal with minimal loss. Accelerated by AIR Recon DL, GE’s deep-learning raw-data reconstruction engine, the SIGNA Premier cuts scan times significantly while producing sharp, noise-free anatomical detail.
Key Features & Advanced Technologies
-
SuperG Gradient System ($80\text{ mT/m}$ / $200\text{ T/m/s}$): Delivers research-class gradient strength to handle demanding diffusion-weighted and echo-planar sequences without thermal drift or duty-cycle limitations.
-
146-Channel TDI Direct Digital RF Receiver Chain: High independent digital channel count enabling high acceleration factors and superior parallel imaging performance across large fields of view.
-
AIR Recon DL Deep Learning Reconstruction: AI algorithm operating directly in $k$-space to eliminate image noise and truncation ringing artifacts, allowing up to $50\%$ shorter scan times while maintaining high spatial resolution.
-
48-Channel AIR™ Head Coil: Adaptive design that conforms to $99.9\%$ of the patient population, placing coil elements closer to the anatomy to boost SNR for neuroimaging, fMRI, and spectroscopy.
-
MultiDrive Parallel RF Transmit: Automated dual-channel $B_1$ shimming that corrects RF field non-uniformity and eliminates standing-wave/dielectric shading artifacts in body and abdominal scans.
-
AIR x™ Automated Scan Setup: AI-assisted anatomical landmark detection for automatic slice positioning in brain and joint studies, ensuring consistent slice alignment across sequential follow-up exams.
