The Philips Brilliance CT scanner platform is built to provide high clinical utility and operational value for community hospitals, busy outpatient imaging centers, and emergency departments. Engineered for durability, the Brilliance 16 and 64 platforms balance low radiation dose exposure with high spatial resolution and fast throughput.

At the center of the scanner’s performance is the MRC X-ray tube. Featuring a direct liquid-cooling system, the MRC tube handles rapid continuous scanning protocols without mid-day thermal cooling delays. Combined with the Brilliance Workspace console, operators can automate routine post-processing, 3D multi-planar reformations (MPR), and vessel tracking to maintain an efficient workflow.

• MRC Liquid-Cooled X-Ray Tube: Heavy-duty 8.0 MHU tube design featuring spiral groove bearings and direct oil cooling. Dissipates heat continuously (up to 1,608 kHU/min) to eliminate tube cooling wait times during high-volume shifts.

• iDose⁴ Iterative Reconstruction Engine: Advanced dual-space iterative technique that preserves spatial resolution and noise structure while reducing patient radiation dose by up to 57% to 80%.

• NanoPanel Detector Array: High-efficiency solid-state detector array designed for low electronic noise pickup, sub-millimeter slice acquisition, and sharp isotropic detail.

• DoseWise & DoseRight Suite: Integrates 3D Dose Modulation (3D-DOM), Automatic Current Selection (ACS), and dynamic collimation to adjust photon output dynamically based on patient weight and anatomical geometry.

• O-MAR (Metal Artifact Reduction): Suppresses streak artifacts caused by hip replacements, spinal rods, and dental hardware, preserving adjacent soft tissue detail.

• Brilliance Workspace User Interface: Streamlines clinical workflows with pre-programmed ExamCards, automated 3D vessel tracking, cardiac phase selection, and rapid image reconstruction rates (up to 20 images/sec).
