Overview

The GE LightSpeed RT is a dedicated radiation oncology simulation and diagnostic CT scanner designed to bridge the gap between diagnostic imaging and precise radiation therapy planning. Featuring an extra-wide 80 cm gantry aperture, the LightSpeed RT eliminates spatial constraints when positioning oncology patients with bulky breast boards, prone headrests, immobilizing vacuum cushions, or radiation masks.

Equipped with a 60 cm wide anatomical Field of View (FOV)—expanding beyond standard 50 cm diagnostic limits—the system captures skin-to-skin patient contours without edge truncation artifacts. Driven by the high-capacity Performix™ tube and GE’s Advantage Sim / Advantage 4D oncology software, clinicians can assess organ motion over time, contour target tumors accurately, and calculate precise radiotherapy treatment plans.
