Description
The Siemens MAGNETOM Altea 1.5T is designed to address productivity challenges and patient diversity in modern healthcare facilities. Built around a spacious $70\text{ cm}$ wide-bore aperture and an ultra-short $157\text{ cm}$ magnet length, the Altea integrates Siemens’ flagship BioMatrix Technology. By actively sensing patient breathing patterns and adjusting shimming parameters to individual anatomies, the platform reduces motion artifacts, minimizes rescans, and delivers reproducible results across all technologists and shifts.
Operating on the syngo MR XA platform, the MAGNETOM Altea leverages myExam Assist to guide technologists through complex protocols automatically. The system incorporates Deep Resolve, an AI-powered reconstruction engine that uses deep neural networks to sharpen fine details and suppress image noise. Combined with Turbo Suite parallel acceleration, Quiet Suite acoustic noise reduction, and the optional Innovision active video entertainment system, the Altea makes high-volume 1.5T imaging faster, quieter, and far more patient-friendly.
Key Features & Advanced Technologies
-
BioMatrix Technology:
-
BioMatrix Sensors: Respiratory sensors built into the patient table automatically detect breathing movement without external belts, ensuring reliable motion gating.
-
BioMatrix Tuners: Real-time localized $B_0$ shimming hardware automatically compensates for magnetic field distortions around complex anatomical areas or head/neck tilts.
-
BioMatrix Interfaces: Dual gantry-mounted touchscreens allow technologists to complete patient setup right at the magnet side.
-
-
Deep Resolve AI Image Reconstruction: Targeted deep-learning algorithms perform AI-driven noise reduction and image sharpening, significantly shortening acquisition times without degrading spatial detail.
-
syngo MR XA Platform & myExam Assist: Standardizes exam protocols across entire facility fleets with automated slice alignment, guided workflow steps, and multi-region automation.
-
Tim 4G Architecture & DirectRF: All-digital RF architecture that digitizes MR signals directly at the coil, preserving high signal purity across up to 180 matrix channel elements.
-
Quiet Suite & Innovision Patient Experience: Hardware and sequence-level acoustic dampening reduces sound pressure levels by up to $97\%$ ($30\text{ dB}$), while Innovision provides active noise-canceling headphones and in-bore visual entertainment.
-
Eco-Power Management: Intelligent cooling and idle control systems reduce operational power consumption during standby periods.
